Why take life too seriously?! There are things that happen every day that make me smile. Sometimes it's a question or story from my son. Sometimes it's a quirky thing heard over the cubicle wall. Many times it's dysfunctional things we say or do at family gatherings. Life happens. Let's enjoy it!

And This One Belongs to the Reds
And this shutout belongs to the Reds! Sorry, Brewers fans. Had to say it. There's a Reds fan in the house. And it's his birthday, so I am grateful that wish came true for him anyway.
Photo above of Jim with Mr. Redlegs and Rosie the Red was from 5 years ago already. We had a little road trip with our friends Mike and Christine and their son (Brew fans) the weekend of July 4th, 2014. It included time in Chicago, then Cincinnati for a Brewers' win in very hot weather, then back through Chicago to drop Carter off for a week of Engineering Camp.
Carter was just going into his sophomore year of high school that fall – if that gives you any indication of how we've aged since then. Well, Carter has. The birthday boy doesn't look a day older than this picture.
Other than a win – witnessed from his recliner, not the ballpark this time – it was a pretty low-key birthday. And wraps up our special event marathon on Blue Jay Drive. We're both looking forward to a relaxing, long weekend. Starting now.
Hope you'll find plenty of reasons to celebrate – no matter who your favorite baseball team is!
