Apples to Apples

All signs point to fall these days. First we had the cooler temps, then football season, now apples falling from the trees.

We don't have our own trees but a friend of ours from work -- who has made enough applesauce to feed an army of toothless infants -- has had enough of her apples so she gave us some. Time to get my Martha on.

After getting some housework done this morning, I got to peeling and slicing and, a few hours later, enjoyed some warm, homemade apple crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, drizzled with caramel. Yum! Fall never tasted so good!

Although today wasn't exactly cool out, we decided to have a fire tonight to burn some sticks we've been piling this summer. It was a nice night for it. Practically a full moon, a little cool and no breeze. I let Jim and Carter tend to the fire. I just sat in my chair and took a few pictures. Tried to get a little creative with some closeups.

So sit back and enjoy the fire...

Relaxed yet? Sweet dreams!
