Foiled Again

In the second round of boys regional playoffs, our Assumption boys traveled the long 3-mile trip south to Port Edwards to play this evening.

Before a standing-room-only crowd, the Blackhawks proved why they are ranked No.1 in their region. They got the lead and kept it. The whole game.

Phooey. They have knocked us out of playoffs a handful of times now in my recollection. Just hoped this time would be different. But they beats us by a more than 10 points to show us it wouldn't be. Our boys played their hearts out. Sad to see it end for the 3 seniors.

Hopefully some of the momentum will carry on to next year. For now, there will be some down time before baseball, track, golf and other spring activities. And most likely, they'll travel to Oconto Falls to cheer on the girls in their sectional final.

'Cause that's what family does.
