What the FORE-cast?!

Obviously when we have 7 smart women golfing, we checked the forecast today. All day. And obviously, the weather dudes got it wrong. Again.

Our two groups teed off at TriCity at 5:30 and 5:40. My group was the later one. We hadn't even chipped onto the green on #1 yet when the rain came out of nowhere. If it was a mist, we'd have played out the hole.

But it was not.

So we picked up our balls and ran for cover in the pavilion next to the #2 tee box. So the 7 of us hung out there for a bit, catching up on fresh news and maybe some gossip and griping about rain even though we all know we NEED it. Then, when we thought it was done, the 4 of them teed off and my group of 3 followed shortly after.

Again, we had just hit our second shots and it started coming down steady again. We hid under a wonderful shelter tree. I took the picture above while it was pouring.

How misleading is that?! Blue skies RIGHT THERE within reach while we are cold and wet.

At that point, both groups made a game-time decision at that point to call it. We were heading in and hoping for better luck another day. Naturally, it pretty much stopped by the time we got to the clubhouse. And even though hubby and friends were several holes ahead of us (and in carts) and called us quitters, we were OK with it.

Because it was sprinkling again on the way home.

And now we're all headed into a legit cold spell with a high of 66 tomorrow and a low of 49. Say what? How does this happen when we just made record high temps this weekend? Gotta love the Midwest.

I might (I say might) just have to turn on my electric mattress pad tonight. We'll see how I feel after I dry out! Be careful out there.
