OK, so we lost our 4th basketball game tonight. This time by 20 points. The important thing to remember is that Carter Austin scored the last point of the game!
Yes, it was just one point. But he is now on the "books" anyway! He was actually 1 for 3 from the line, as the say, but we'll focus on the fact he made one free throw (which by the way, means he was trying to dribble or shoot or something to draw that foul)!
The rest of the game is not worth going on and on about.
We traveled up to Marathon -- the tiny city outside of Wausau where, coincidentally, Jim's parents got married. We actually had been to St. Mary's Catholic Church (adjacent to the middle school) a few years back for Jim's uncle's funeral. It's quite a hike from home (and work).
I was hoping that since it was such a small town and school, that we could kick their butts on the basketball court (very unchristian of me, I'm sure). But then I remembered (too late) Assumption is just a little school, too. So we were more evenly matched than I expected and we just didn't click like we were supposed to. Final score was 50-30. Yikes.
That's OK. Carter scoring may have been the highlight of the day but a close second was taking a long hot shower this morning. Yay! And doing much-needed laundry tonight. Yay!
Hot water is under-rated (much like the St. Mary's Eagles).
