It wasn't quite as thick as pea soup, but a blanket of fog laid over us all day today.
I felt like we were in a life-size snow globe and someone fogged up the glass. Couldn't see much beyond our parking lot at work and was smart enough not to even think about going out on the road for a noon run.
I did escape to the fitness center for a bit when I lost patience with Mr. Sun -- who never did make an appearance. By 4:30, you'd swear the Sun, wherever he was, had set. (Just not liking this dark time of year!)
The good news is that the fog seems to have lifted on the 7th-grade basketball team. They traveled to Amherst tonight to play the unbeaten Falcons. And did OK.
They did not win, but they hung right in there and even had the lead for awhile. We bleacher moms had a stunned moment of silence when that happened. We haven't been in the position to even cheer this year. You know, it's kind of fun! I hope we can do it again.
In the end, we lost 33-26. Not bad at all. We can see that Carter (well, probably the whole team really) has a bit better grasp of what's going on. It's great to be able to see a clear picture, isn't it?
Wouldn't it be great if we never had to deal with "pea soup" blocking our view in life? It would be so comforting to have a clear direction, wouldn't it?
I guess the next time God hands you pea soup, ask Him for a spoon and dig in.
