Back in the Paddle Again

Even though the calendar says it's the first day of the season, it feels like summer is slipping away from us already. So we decided to rectify that with a paddle in Nepco Lake with our friends Mike and Cindy. Had originally thought river but the water is so high right now the boat landing dock is under water. So over to Nepco we went.

Later, we realized it was exactly a year ago today that I first went kayaking. Was a little nervous about tipping and keeping up. No problems yet. It's good exercise, great fun and an ideal photo op situation most trips.

Tonight I got a few nature shots clicked off but mostly was paddling hard against the wind and current as we paddled up stream from Nepco Lake to the Griffith Avenue bridge and beyond.

Few lily pads in bloom.

Had to get a little artsy.

A bunch of little purple flowers caught my attention.

There was a ton of them!

Paddling under the Griffith Avenue bridge by The Ridges golf course.

Every time I drive over it, I must be oblivious since I don't recall seeing paddlers behow.

 Cattails and art.

A few nices houses going up. This big one is right in front of the small one – if they both wanted to watch sunsets or beach activity.

Had nice mild temps in mid-70s.

Trying to get artsy toward the end. Mike obliged.

Jim and Cindy glide through the setting sun to our launch point.

Until next time! And there will be another one. They've kind of grown on me...

My neighbors and my paddle.
