Tonight was Carter's last Pep Band gig for the fall sports season. They entertained before our home volleyball game against Stevens Point Pacelli. It was "senior night" so there was a decent crowd.
The varsity game started later than usual -- 7:30 instead of 7 -- so naturally hubby and I were concerned about keeping Carter out late on a school night.
At one point after the games were in progress, I texted him to see how many hours of homework he had tonight. When he responded "3+ hours" I figured we should go home then. But no, hanging out with girls and such, he insisted he'll be just fine getting it all done whenever we got home.
Well I hope he does. I for one am not going to stay up to find out.
While I will miss hearing Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock," Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" and other great Pep Band songs, it's not like we have nothing else going on.
Cross country lasts almost another month. And, as Carter mentioned on the way home tonight, he will be starting to practice Christmas music next week.
It would be fitting for our band to play Elvis' "(Royal) Blue Christmas," wouldn't it?
Keep on rockin' in the off season!
