I should call our group "Eagle Scouts" since we were able to spot this guy flying above us almost right away.
He was elusive. I'd get close to where I think he was sitting and he'd fly off and land somewhere else, sometimes across the river. Ugh. Don't worry I caught up with him, or someone like him, later!
The river wasn't as calm as last time but still pretty calm.
And by calm I mean calm enough to nap!
Cindy catching Mike napping...
And me with my zoom, able to catch Jim!
Temps were mild, not too hot at all. So enjoyable.
Plenty of people out having fun on the river but nothing like the holiday weekend.
I spotted my friend in my Eagle Cove, that's just my place.
I could tell it was not the same bird as my friend last weekend. This one was smaller and probably younger.
Sticking his tongue out. Holy sharp beak, right?
These are all the same guy (or girl). I just managed to paddle closer and closer so the background was changing. I'm stealth that way!
See how the head and neck aren't completely white yet? That's what made me think it was young. But what do I know? I need to read up on them if I'm going to keep shooting them. In the legal way, naturally.
Oh now he sees me! I knew as soon as he gave the look, he was going to take off.
And he did!
Saw his kid on the way out. He was crying from across the cove. Yes we eagle scouts know the eagle cry now. We're learning.
Life on the river is just ducky.
Now who's full and tired? Me. And probably 3 other members of the Krew.
