So Many Reasons to Be Proud

Hit the road at sunrise today and hoped when I got to state softball in Madison it would not be the sunset of the Lady Royals' season. 

Although Assumption (17-7 record) got the 3 seed, they were underdogs to Pacelli (27-2). We beat them in the regular season but we could not repeat the performance today. Our girls fought hard, but the Cardinals kept hitting balls to the fence and pitching strikes. 

We ended up getting beat 10-0 in 6 innings. 

But you know what? Our Lady Royals are still one of the top 4 Division 5 teams in the state! That's something to be proud of!

And considering they had a slow start to the season with a big learning curve with some of the new team members, they came so far!

The only senior on our team is my sweet girl Lydia. She was heartbroken at the loss today but how cool is it to play your last high school game where the Badgers play? Pretty cool. So proud of her. And the whole team for rallying together and cheering each other on through all the highs and lows today.
