Operation :: Nesting

Not surprising that the urge to clean and organize is known as nesting. Often occurring in the last stages of pregnancy, it makes sense that nesting is the counter opposite of empty nesting. Didn't put 2 and 2 together until I got to nesting today.

Or what I like to call "Saturday chores," which weren't done Saturday – this week or last since we were organizing for the empty nest this past week!

And no, I did not have the textbook urge, merely had to light a fire under my butt and get to it!

Got some cleaning done and went for a 3+ mile run, which also was put on the back burner this week. By mid afternoon, Jim and I headed over to his parents' house to pick them up on our way to The Lure Bar & Grill down on Lake Petenwell. Jim's cousin's daughter waitresses there and today was her last day before heading back to college in Oshkosh. So a dozen family members went down there for a late-afternoon meal with a nice view.

Always a pretty sight there. The place was packed with boaters, swimmers, people relaxing on the decks and listening to a band. Luckily there was room in the dining area inside so cousin Becca could serve us. We didn't promise to be good customers, just promised to tip well!

It was a good meal, though!

Tonight we relaxed by the fire (pictured up top) at our neighbors', who also had monumental emotions this weekend seeing their oldest son marry. Instead of Blue Jay Drive, we could just call it Crying Mothers Lane or something. Very, very happy tears, though, as we are both so proud of our babies.

For the record, I fought the urge all day to text Carter. I am trying to give him his space. Right now his space is leaving a big hole in my heart. But everything heals with time (and hopefully an occasional, unsolicited text), right?

Just gotta keep focusing on nesting. The house needs it and I could use the distraction!
