And the Thunder Rolls...

I haven't been too closely in tune to the country music scene since the Dixie Chicks quit years ago. (Great concert, by the way.) But I do recall Garth Brooks had a song many years ago about thunder rolling.

Apparently, Mother Nature is a Garth Brooks fan. She had it rolling all night.

Now the same thing happened the night before but I forgave her because she gave us that beautiful summer day yesterday. Last night, though, she was noisy and must have got sidetracked listing to Garth because she forgot to shut off the faucet.

That rain kept coming 'til late morning and, while it seemed like our grass was actually smiling, the baseball fans were not. Carter was supposed to play at Marshfield this afternoon. Judging by the wet, muddy condition of our driveway, we pretty much expected it to be called off. And it was.

This makes the 4th game of our short season that has been called due to Mother Nature. I think she needs to get her priorities straight.

I wonder since she likes country music if maybe she follows the stereotype and likes stock car racing, too. That would be great. Then she might just give us a dry night tomorrow for our nephew Colin's first race of the year. That would be mighty nice of her.

I wonder since she apparently likes water so much if maybe she likes lakes. That would be great if she gave us a dry morning Saturday to run our Jigsaw Race For Autism around Lake Wazeecha. That would be mighty nice of her.

But now that I think of it, Thunder Rolls was not about anyone being nice.

Dang.
