Heart Strings

Contrary to what you might think, my biggest concerns about what's happening in Minnesota right now have nothing to do with the Vikings.

However, they have everything to do with a family member in the Heart Institute at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

It was quite the roller coaster day for my twin sister, her family and our entire family. In a nutshell, her husband had a heart attack, was airlifted from Up North to the Twin Cities, had some stents put in and later in the afternoon had more work done to clear the hallways of his arteries.

Such a trying day for all. A good lesson of how life can change in an instant. But an even bigger reminder about the power of love and prayer. Though some of the family could support her family in person, most of us were sending virtual hugs and a whole lot of prayers.

No matter the distance, we are always connected with heart strings.

If you are the praying type, please send thoughts upward for a trouble-free, pain-free recovery for Steve and strength and patience for the entire family. Thanks be to God he is here for another day.

Now go hug your loved ones. And live.
