Alaska Day 1 :: Arrival

Had an early start but we looked good in our matching t-shirts. Today's (spoiler alert: there's more than one) said: Sisters R going wild.

We'll see what defines wild. For one thing, the view as we approached Anchorage was wild. So many mountains and you can even tell where glacier paths are.

Made the flight in 5 hours, 5 minutes. We are at a 3 hour time difference here. So tired right now!

First moose was in the airport and first bear was...

At Gwennie's Old Alaskan Restaurant down the street from our hotel. We get our camper van tomorrow.

So today we explored bit of Anchorage. And accidentally walked 10 miles. Ha. Got to see Earthquake Park and some pretty scenery, but my camera isn't letting me download just now.

One surprise was a busy lake right in the city where float planes are constantly taking off and landing. A tourist thing, I'm sure. But fun to sit and watch.

It was low 70s and sunny today and that will not stay. But it'll still be fun and we'll still be up to some possible shenanigans.

Nothing too wild, of course!
