Alaska Day 2 :: Mr. Ed

We started our part of the adventure today when we got picked up by the "van lady" and taken up to Wasilla (north of Anchorage) to meet Ed.

She said their camper vans have male names and their motorhomes are female. Easier to remember than numbers.

Today's shirts say: Serenity Sisters on TouRR.

So we took Ed to meet Fred. Meyer, that is, and got groceries and a few supplies, then headed north to Denali National Park.

There were some scattered rain showers but traffic was light and our day was made when we saw our first moose of the trip!

206.2 miles later, we got to Riley Creek Campground inside the national park. We took a walk after dinner and guess what?

Moose number 2, then 3 and 4 when her calves showed up. Couldn't get all 3 since they were in the woods, but we saw them so it counted!

The scenic drive was beautiful. Just a few pictures here so you get the idea.

OK, not all pictures are pretty!

And playing cards at 10 p.m. Yup. Crazy light! Now we gotta try to sleep because we get to take a bus tour in the morning and meet Denali, formerly Mount McKinley!

If I didn't mention it yet, we are having fun and absolutely enjoying the views at every turn!
