A Good Friday

I didn't know Jet Lag could be contagious but both boys slept in until almost 11 a.m. today! That served Jim and I well since we were both working in our home offices and didn't have to worry about entertaining the tired teenagers.

Once they got up, it turned out to be a busy day.

Carter and I took Lukas to our church for 1 p.m. Good Friday services while Jim attended his church. Had two quick grocery store stops on the way home, they we unloaded the vehicle and hit the road.

Since we evidently have everything cheaper here in America than Germany, Lukas wanted to do a little shopping and really, really wanted to go to a Nike Store it we could find one.

Ask and you shall receive! We went to the Oshkosh Outlet Store Center first. The Nike Store was the only one we went to there before heading back up the highway to the Fox River Mall in Appleton.

They immediately found a Bucky Badger similar to what they saw at their Wisconsin University tour yesterday. After photographing them with the Buckster, we sent them on their way around the mall. Jim and I did some shopping. He got a pair of shoes on sale and mainly we just got lots of steps.

When the boys let hunger overtake their desire to shop, we went out to eat at HuHot.

The HuHot Mongolian Grill offers a unique dining experience. It's sort of a buffet. You pick your meats, veggies and so on, then combine your special sauces to create your "own" taste. Then you hand your bowl over to the knife-wielding guys in black.

They travel in a circle around the hot grill, chopping and mixing and frying the individual creations before serving them back to us on a steaming plate.

Lukas is smiling here before our five-alarm started. He and I both went way overboard on our hot and spicy combination. We were both crying -- well, clearing out our sinuses and blowing our noses -- in no time.

He gave up on his and started with a new bowl and new "recipe" for himself. I soldiered on and finished mine all up, while my nose ran and my lips burned. Still, it tasted soooo good! Had to do a second plate myself just to create something a little bland and easy on my senses.

We all rolled out of there pretty full and very satisfied. Got home at 10:30 and we are exhausted and ready for bed.

Travel, shopping and too much good food will do that to you! Good night!
