All Creatures Great & Small

Contrary to popular opinion, one could argue that even Carter is not the most spoiled one in the house. Oh don't look at me. I come in third easily. Nope, I'm talking about Sylvester, the furry princess who has wrapped her clawless paws around Daddy's heart.

Seriously, that new bay window we had put in this spring? That was so Kitty could watch the birds and squirrels and take a nap in the sunshine. (I dare Jim to deny it.) And yesterday, well since the backyard scene was too boring for her royal hair-ness, Daddy went out and bought a bird feeder to place outside that big ol' window of hers.

Seriously.

And, unfortunately, not a single bird found it all of yesterday. Today, though, those chickadees came and partied. I have to admit it was fun to watch. Even Carter was commenting how cool it was as we tried to snap pictures and wait for a cardinal or blue jay to show.

Now we'll just have to see if Sylvester's new friends are as finicky as she is when it comes to eating!

The other "wildlife" we saw today was in the form of the Detroit Lions trying to spoil a Vikings victory. Again, it did not come as easily as it should. It's like when we took a week off last week, we really took a week off. They were not synchronized.

Thankfully the not-so-great Lions' roar was bigger than their bite. But it kept the game interesting -- just a bit more than birdwatching :)
