Playing the Blues

The undefeated Assumption Royals had quite a game tonight taking on the undefeated Abbotsford Falcons. We had to play on a Thursday since our other high school in town has a home game tomorrow night.

Since we didn't have rain like last week, the Pep Band had a little more pep. And thankfully, Carter's best buddy Olivia got him to cooperate for one photo at least.

I think that expression is "Thanks, Mom. So glad this is my last year putting up with this." Or something like that!

Our Royal Blue fans and players were pepped up, too, and hoping to kick some tail. But Abbotsford proved to be too much of a challenge. They had some really big guys. We had some big penalties (not saying we deserved them all). And we had some guys really hurting out there.

They tried hard but came up short with a 20-14 loss. I just hope our guys are all healthy and that it was just warm temps and humidity that hit them hard. A lot of season left yet.

And yes, Carter, a lot more "final" photo opportunities, too! Grin and bear it, son.
