Rock, White and River Blue

Nothing as patriotic as an American flag and an American bald eagle on July 4th. Saw a bit of both today.

Was a full but fun day – walking, paddling, dancing. First, I walked around the lake with my friend Marigene to start the day. Tried to beat the heat.

Then, this afternoon hubby and I went kayaking on the Wisconsin River with our friends Mike and Cindy. We figured it would be crazy busy with the holiday, but most of the boat traffic was on the north side of the dam, where we kayaked between the Biron and Rapids dams. Saw one eagle in a few different spots and some other pretty scenes. Enjoy...

After kayaking, we wrapped up the holiday at Anchor Bay – rockin' on the river. The Spicy Tie band was playing so we met our friends Christine and Jenny there since we all knew the crazy talented lead singer.

Actually saw lots of people we knew. Made a fun ending to the day. We skipped the fireworks. Seen enough of those. Plus, I can hear the ones from town right now as I type this.

Hope you had a fun and safe 4th!
