After a busy week of working and paddling and more working and more paddling, the 'yakking foursome took a break tonight.
Instead of being ON the water, we went to eat something found IN the water!
Ventured (via vehicle) over to Ponderosa Pines, which is somewhere between our house and Plainfield. They have an excellent, excellent perch fish-fry dinner there! Between the four of us, there was one jumbo shrimp and steak meal ordered and 3 perch dinners.
Winner, winner, perch dinner!
We also were lucky enough to run into some friends from Rapids – Carter's former babysitters and an Assumption family. The place was packed and our tummies were definitely full when we rolled out of there.
No room for ice cream stops, that's for sure. And, after we started up a fire in our firepit, no room for s'mores either.
Between full bellies, a full week and falling temperatures, I think we're all going to sleep well tonight.
