TGImF (Thank God it's MY Friday)

I love a week that starts on a Monday and quickly transitions to a "Friday" the next day.

Yes I am one of those loads who is turning their 4-day Thanksgiving weekend into a 5-day one! And I'm not feeling the least bit guilty about it. Had a productive day at work so we could leave in time to catch Carter's 5 p.m. basketball game versus the Auburndale Apaches.

The little village of Auburndale is known in these parts for their strong basketball program at the high school level, so we weren't sure what to expect. After last night's sound defeat, I'm guessing there were no expectations whatsoever. Maybe, though, an angry drive to go and get that first win.

And that they did.

Yes, ladies and gentleman, we have a W on the record books. Whoo-hoo!

It took a slow start but we did get a lead and kept it. At halftime, it was 16-12 and it stayed pretty much a 2- to 4-point game. Carter did not add to our point total. He was 0 for 2 from the free-throw line. But he had 3 or 4 rebounds and at least one take-away. So he had an OK game, too. Final score was 36-28.

Assumption wins!

Now it would be nice to carry that victory into another game this week. But just like his lazy parents, Carter doesn't have to function (in that capacity anyway) until next Monday!

TGIF!
