TGIFF (Thank God It's Football Friday)

Are you ready for some football?? Could it possibly be high school football season already? For those of us who love summer, we are in denial that this could be a signal of fall. For those of us who love summer AND football, we're OK with this – as long as summer hangs around awhile to watch!

Although schools in Wisconsin are not in session yet – Carter starts Monday – most of them had their first game of the season tonight.

Hubby and I ventured up to Greenwood to cheer on our Assumption Royals. If you look on the map, it's somewhere north of Neillville and in the heart of Amish Country. Thus the quick drive-by photo through the dirty windshield...

Despite the fact is was more than an hour away, Royal Blue was well represented on the visitor side! And the team put on a great performance for us.

Not sure if it was the caliber of the other team, the fact our players worked their butts off in the off-season, or both, but Assumption took a commanding lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

This was the score at halftime. No typos. No scoreboard malfunction. We were dominating.

Strangely enough, there was no scoring in the second half so this was also the final score. What a great way to start the season. A win and no injuries! Quite a confidence builder, too.

Carter had to work so I kept him in the loop via text. After all, with tonight's game, that officially means his senior year is in session.

I may be ready for some football... but NOT that!
