Tax Day

The April 15th tax deadline doesn't mean much to us since we filed our taxes months ago. Until today, we hadn't spent our refund yet. But that's about to change.

We finally got the final word on the Civic. Looks like we're going to pull the trigger, get her fixed and cross our fingers for a long and healthy year, car-wise. Yes, it will take something equivalent to our generous refund to cover it, but it's still cheaper than a "new" used car. At this time, anyway.

So we will have a single vehicle to "share" until next Tuesday or Wednesday. Should be interesting. Not that we both are using both vehicles all the time, but there's just something about having that freedom to do so if we wish!

Enough about the bad stuff.

The good stuff is that my sister Romey and husband Rick are visiting us from way Up North and staying at the Austin Bed & Breakfast tonight. They arrived at the same time we got home from work. Romey has a state town clerks/treasurer meeting tomorrow just south of Rapids so this worked out nicely.

We went out to eat at Ponderosa Pines and now the guys are hanging out on the back deck with their beverages and the rest of us are inside. Romey checked out my scrapbook and now Carter is showing her pictures from his spring break. The Schwan's man just stopped by, too, so you know this day is going to end on a great note.

Nothing taxing about it!
