Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

Dateline MARSHFIELD -- Fresh off a weekend that started with 2 wins in Auburndale, the Assumption Middle School took another double-header... this time handing it to the Marshfield Tigers 14-2, and 7-6. Yay!

I was just happy that it was a nice sunny day for picture-taking! It could have been a bit warmer, but I'll take a slightly cool wind over just about every other weather scenario we've had this spring baseball season.
Carter was hot at the bat today. He struck out once but then hit the ball the other 4 times he was up. Twice he made it to base, once he grounded out and the final at bat he hit a flyball to center. The centerfielder caught it, but that was a nice hit!

My excitement was catching his first hit on "film". Look at that action!

Here he stands on first, waiting for a chance to steal.

Did I mention my son was vertically challenged? Those junior high kids come in all shapes and sizes!

Looking for a chance to run home. He looks fast anyway.

In the second game, he got to play 2nd base. He did OK there. No mistakes but was on the receiving end of some bad throws. That's how that goes.

He certainly looks ready for anything.

This guy was stealing second and Carter was waiting for the ball. Somehow a collision was avoided! Not too many bumps and bruises to brag about today.

Just nice to get 2 more wins and yes, with the winner, winner, comes the chicken dinner... at KFC in Marshfield. Got home after 8 p.m. and my fun wasn't over yet. Saw the moon rising over the trees so had hubby drop me off by a farm field on the way home.

Got the picture and got to thinking that maybe the full moon gave our Royals their extra energy today. Hey, whatever works. Let's bottle it and save it. We've still got 6 more games between now and Saturday!

Let's hope the great weather and the winning keep comin'.
