Going to the Dogs

Had planned to spend the afternoon at the race track since our nephew Colin was racing at nearby Golden Sands Speedway. Our plan was that Carter and I would leave as soon as his race was done so we could hit the road to Minnesota.

Plans changed when Colin and another driver collided before the heat race - and Colin's car was no longer in a condition to race. Bummer.

So Carter and I ended up leaving at intermission,  stopped home to pick up our overnight bags and headed west.

We made a spicy pit stop at Buffalo Wild Wings in Eau Claire then continued on to Minneapolis,  where we are staying the night at our nephew David's house (which he shares with his beautiful wife, Sara, and there shaggy son, Leo.)

Carter was excited to meet another brown-eyed cousin! Even though Colin's race went to the Dogs today, I'm glad our road trip did, too. 

Looking forward to more new people and experiences tomorrow when we tour the U of M campus. Hot dog!

Or should I say, Gopher?!
