Zero to Bride in 7 Minutes
You know what's fun about bridal showers? Everything. Well, I should say, for those of us in the "older set" who don't have a lot of them to go to these days, they're fun!
With the help of Pinterest (see RoAnn's creative cake dress above) and websites dedicated to bridal shower games, my sister RoAnn and I had a great time co-hosting our niece Beth's shower on Sunday.
We provided dinner and a show... Also known as lunch followed by a few "shower songs" performed by that famous duo Robyn and Raylene. Then it was game time. First up, was a wedding word scramble. I wanted to create my own but it was so much easier to download the PDF and hit PRINT. Still fun.
Then, RoAnn brought out the toilet paper...
The group was divided into 3 teams and had 7 minutes to create a bride using the toilet paper only. Let's sneak a peek behind the scenes:
Renell, the mother of the bride, waits for her TP tailors to get busy.
Raylene's dress starts off a little too revealing.
What? My mom is giving Shania Twain a run for her money!
We have now moved into a new game strategy – using the Statue of Liberty play!
Good thing my niece Sara (up top) is a nurse so she can help dress the head wound.
Finish results include some very long, Princess Diana-like trains.
Whoa. Look at the fashionable back on the Raylene's dress!
The Bride To Be served as judge and jury. And the winner is... Raylene with her fancy back and braided belt! Nice work, ladies! Don't flush it all down at once!
After games, it was time for gifts. The one place we can "ooooh" and "ahhh" over placemats!
Gotta save all the bows for a bow-quet! Beautiful, Beth!
Partying in pink! Since she will have pink as one of her wedding colors, most of us were thinking pink... Not to confuse it with a baby shower, which has its own style of games and entertainment. Let's not rush things!
Blessings to Beth and her July groom Anders!
