Showing Signs of Improvement

Coach Austin's Reds team wrapped up their season tonight with a stunning loss versus the almost-undefeated Phillies, 16-7. The score, however, doesn't tell the whole story...

We were down 16-2 going into our last at bat. So at least we got a rally going! Carter, unfortunately, logged the team's last out of the season. But that doesn't tell the whole story either...

Here's a kid that showed up at the first several games of the year just looking. Not swinging, but looking. Now he's a swinging and hitting fool. Tonight he got on base the first two at-bats. One was a really nice hit over the first baseman's head. And his last up, he grounded out. The important thing is that he made contact. And he finished up the season hitting.

He was asking us on the way home if we thought he improved this season. Most definitely! The encouraging thing, too, is that we only have one tournament out of the way. So even though the league season is done, he still has another dozen games at least to play for tournament.

Let's keep the hitting streak going!
